Program Costs

WVCIP is an affordable opportunity for professionals to gain valuable experience working and living in the United States. WVCIP’s volunteer host families provide lodging and meals at no cost to WVCIP participants, which significantly reduces to cost to participate. Upon arrival participants are given a West Virginia University ID card which gives them free access to public transportation within the city of Morgantown. Additionally, WVCIP awards annual scholarship to outstanding participants in financial need.

Many WVCIP participants request financial assistance from their employers to help meet costs associated with travel to the US and/or for program fees.

WVCIP participants are financially responsible for

Visa Application Fees SEVIS= $180.00 USD Nonimmigrant Visa Application DS-160 = $160.00 USD

Participation fee Varies from country to country, please see the Placement Fee list to determine the fee for your country. In some cases the Participation Fee is waived as part of a WVCIP scholarship.

Round-trip Airfare From your home country to Pittsburgh International Airport. If you fly into another airport you are responsible for any travel cost to Morgantown, West Virgina

Medical Insurance The cost depends on age, and can range between $300-$500 USD.

Personal spending money WVCIP recommends at least $85.00 per week
